What is permanent makeup?
Permanent makeup (also called micropigmentation) is, plain and simple, facial tattoo.  The same products and/or tools are not used that a traditional body tattooist uses, but in theory, it is the same.  A traditional body tattooist goes as deep as the depth of a nickel; a permanent makeup artist goes as deep as the depth of a dime.

When you come to my office, you will be asked to give a medical history, to see if permanent makeup is right for you.  If you have Diabetes, Glaucoma (or some other serious illness), or use blood thinners for the heart (or some other serious medications), this procedure might not be for you.  If you can get a doctors release, you could still get permanent cosmetics.

FREEDOM...FREEDOM...FREEDOM
No longer will you be a slave to your appearance.  Have your brows, eye liner and lip color permanently applied, use a self tanner once a week on your face and go naked!  Throw cool water on your face to refresh it at lunch or every time you visit the rest room.  Could anything be better?

Permanent makeup doesn't melt!!!!
You can walk, run, work, swim, golf, and dance all night.  Your lip color will not get on your glass.  Your eyeliner won't run and your brows will still be there in the morning.

You will "Wakeup with Makeup" every morning.
Is it taking longer and longer to get ready in the morning?  Have a professional apply your makeup once and for all, and be ready when you roll out of bed every day.  The time that you will save and the freedom you will have; will be worth every penny.

Think about it? How much time and money will you save if you wakeup with your brows, liner, shadow and lip color already on?  Just powder your nose and put on some lip gloss.

Eye brows can be done different ways: hairstroke (to look more natural), solid (like eye brow pencil) or a mixture of both.  This is the solid eyebrow pencil look.  It is usually the way to go with blonde hair.
BEFORE
AFTER
Minimal brown/black smudge eyeliner, top and bottom.
BEFORE
AFTER
Dark brown liner, and soft brown shadow all around the eye (top & bottom).
Blue smudge liner all around the eye.  Wash type shadow of the same color.
4 kinds of topical anesthetics will be provided, and will make you as comfortable as possible.  Most people say that on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the worst), their discomfort level is from a 0 to 3.  Soft music and teddy bears will help you relax.

You and I will work together to pick colors that will give you a natural beauty with no makeup on.  When you have the correct colors on your face, flaws are diminished.  You can always apply more (or a different color) over your facial tattoo for special occasions.  Your chosen colors are under your skin not on it.  Your skin tones will make the implanted pigment your one of a kind color.
Full lip color. You will miss the swelling when it's gone.
How would it be if you didn't have to apply eyebrow pencil...anymore?

Oh how I wish I had taken a before picture of these brows.  They turned out just beautiful.  I have had many young military women come to get their brows done.  It is so important that these brows do not look like a tattoo.
Theory of "Maximum Effect" permanent makeup color application.

I have a theory to maximize the effect of permanent makeup color on the face; to cause the best, most youthful, and radiant "wakeup with makeup" appearance. I preface, by suggesting that you consider the analogy of 5 copies of the same print or painting (maybe a landscape), each matted in a different color (mat is the colored paper/board surrounding the print just inside of the frame). First, your eye will be drawn to the colors in the painting that are the same color as the mat. Second, the colors in the painting that are the same color as the frame will also be enhanced. Lastly the color of the wall that the painting is hung on affects the image. Matting and framing is a fine art. Think of this as you ponder my theory.

"Maximum Effect" eye liner theory:
1. The maximum effect eye liner color would be the color of the ring around the iris.  Each person has their own black; meaning the color that looks black from a few feet away and magnifies their eyes.  This should be the eyeliner color, not black out of the bottle.
2. The maximum effect shadows would be the colors taken from the iris. A second option on shadow color would be for the hair, the brows and the shadow to be the same color (or wash of that color).

"Maximum Effect" brow theory:
Match hair on head: 1. solid color if hair is a solid color 2. use several colors if the hair on head has several colors. Examine and match undertones. Undertones cause the maximum effect. Instruct your client to color their brows when they color their hair for maximum effect.  Your client may have the wrong hair color for their skin tones.  Bring this to their attention and discuss possible alternatives.

"Maximum Effect" lip theory:
Pinch the cheeks and pinch the fingertips and choose the color closest to those colors (paying close attention to the undertone). Compensate for the amount of color already in the lips (are they very purple and/ or do they have pigment already in them, especially titanium) and strive for the color found in the cheeks and fingertips. If the lips already have titanium (a frosty or pasty paleness) left over from previous tattoo; use a pigment that has no titanium and is richer and/or darker than the color you are striving for (it will mesh with the titanium already there).

The color and the undertone of the color must be exact to achieve maximum effect.  Relax and stare at your client until you see the undertones (green, blue, red, orange, yellow).  If you don't have natural light; buy full spectrum bulbs. Know the undertones of your pigments.  This knowledge and the understanding of undertones is a tool that will take you from a technician to an artist.

This is not a "Friday night" or "what's your favorite color" recipe.  It is a recipe for maximum illusion of beauty and youth; a recipe to bring out a youthful radiance in a clients "wakeup with makeup" everyday face.  This will not be acceptable to all clients.  Some will insist on Friday night makeup, but they should be discouraged.  Friday night makeup is boring to wake up to every day and provides no opportunity to "dress up".
